History

In 2007 Gibson decided to do a unique special run of 400 guitars each week. This Les Paul was Guitar of the Week #27 which was in mid-July. I lucked out when I picked this one up in 2008 from an Ebay seller who was the original owner. My favorite features of this axe include the pickups, which were the first appearance of the 57 Classic (neck) and 57 Classic Plus (bridge) models, the full binding on the body, neck and headstock, the mother-of-pearl holly bush inlay on the headstock, and the super lightweight body. It weighs in at 7.5 lbs which is incredibly light for a Les Paul!

The guitar’s chambered body is made from mahogany as is the carved top. The neck is also mahogany and the fretboard is real rosewood. The only change I’ve made to this guitar was to replace the standard Gibson Deluxe tuners (yuck) with a set of Kluson Revolutions. I’ll be keeping this guy!
