Fender American Performer Stratocaster
Fender American Performer Stratocaster
You won't be able to find an American Performer Strat in candy apple red at your local Guitar Center or Sweetwater or anywhere else for that matter because Fender doesn't make them in that color. If you want one in CAR you'll have to do what i did and build it yourself. The parts used to build this guitar are genuine Fender and are exactly the same as those on American Performer production models. The only difference is the color.
I've built 3 or 4 Telecasters but this was my first and only Strat build. This was a much harder build than the Teles mainly due to all the drilling and fitting required. If you look under the pickguard you'll see what I mean. I'm glad I made the effort though as the result is a beautiful, easy playing and great sounding axe. By the way, the amp shown in the first picture is my Mustang LT50.
