My love affair with the guitar started over 50 years ago after seeing the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan show. My sister Donna purchased a Silvertone acoustic guitar which I proceeded to “borrow” and taught myself how to play. Since then, I have enjoyed making music with lots of different folks in a number of different musical groups. Guitarists that have influenced me include George Harrison, Keith Richards, Eric Clapton, Terry Kath, Jimi Hendrix, Billy Gibbons, Steve Cropper, Carlos Santana, Duane Allman, Dickey Betts and Warren Haynes to name a few. Shortening my pinkie finger on my fretting hand by an inch or so in 1994 set me back a bit, but I am enjoying playing guitar now more than ever.
My guitar collection includes Fender, Gibson, Paul Reed Smith, Ibanez and Martin guitars. I also enjoy assembling custom guitars from parts I have purchased or scrounged. I have amplifiers by Fender, Gibson, Positive Grid, Blackheart and Pignose, along with a number of pedals and multi-sound devices. My keyboard workstation is a Roland Juno DS61 and it's used for both audio and midi tracks. A Yamaha electronic drum kit rounds out my instrumentation (although it currently sits in my son's music room). I use microphones from Audio Technica, Shure, Sennheiser and CAD. For recording I use Pro Tools and Logic Pro X, a UAD interface, Yamaha and IKMultimedia studio monitors and a Mac Mini (Intel) with an HP video monitor.
